at 5:18 AM in Gujarat) in the I Ching hexagram

In today’s world words are being used powerfully with
little or no reflection on the implications. Most media outlets would consider
it a great imposition if the news or words published had to be true! The
hexagram for this Gemini New Moon Eclipse suggests that a little reflection and
gentleness will have a powerful effect. The eclipse here also suggests that
light will be suppressed in this matter. You can’t always believe what you hear
or read in print.
The solution implied is to turn the mind inward
towards one’s heart rather than outward toward discord and tension. If one must
speak one should reflect first and then speak softly, with consideration given
to the listener.
The horoscope for this New Moon Eclipse in Gemini is
significantly afflicted. There will be a marked tendency to act on hearsay or
gossip, without taking time to ascertain what is true and what isn’t. The world
is challenged by a confusing and distorted sense of priorities. Simple truth is
obscured, and open minds and ears are difficult to find. It is as if beliefs
and disbeliefs are gaining more credibility than the truth itself. It seems as
if blind justice has run amok.
Who is setting the standards and who has credibility?
When there is fog, one usually needs to slow down and
wait for it to lift.
Silent reflection is invaluable.
Can you hold your centre within, and not be pulled
out into outer discord?
Can you hear the your own voice within?
Words and thoughts represent disturbances of peace.
Can you arrest them?
Before judging other’s words and thoughts, one would
be wise to search within to see if one’s own words and ideas are healing or
helpful, and if they are truly sensitive to the needs and circumstances of
others.
Slowing down thoughts and turning off the mind can be
a very difficult thing to accomplish in today’s electronic world. Can there be
a virtual peace in a virtual environment? Simple silence can be a most difficult challenge. Meditation, prayer
and chanting become extremely useful tools for the continued experience of
silence and peace. In this fast moving modern world, will you make some time
for inner peace and strive for gentleness in your communications? Or will you
be tempted to compromise and veer of course? Even a moment of silence can
produce beneficial effects across a day. Will you strive for moments of peace
and gentleness? Every moment counts!
Singing hymns or bhajans, and chanting God’s name
with others is a most beautiful activity. In the Age of Kali, otherwise known
as the age of argument and darkness, chanting is said to be the most direct way
to attain Godhead, or loving presence. Chanting cuts through the darkness and
doubts of the restless mind and helps us to focus on heartfelt feelings.
When you say a name of God, God is there. The more
times you say it the more God is there.
