Thunder in the storm.

Excitement without and discrimination within.

To get free of danger, one must move away from it.

The path is obscured.

Perspective is obscured by one’s own doubts.

Support will come.

This is the time of year when one has to start to work on the harvest. Difficulties will have to be dealt with as they arise. It does no good to be overwhelmed by inertia or doubt. Initiative is needed to make progress. If left alone the harvest will be diminished.

In one’s personal life, it becomes important to harvest the results of one’s efforts. In this case doubt will cause one to be diminished and should not be indulged. One needs to seize the moment, and make the necessary effort, without hesitation or reflection. It is time to look forward to what must be done, rather than backward to what has already happened. Positive initiatives will bring deliverance from old restricting forces. Arousing out of the doubt and darkness is the challenge of this new moon. What will heal? What will free us from the bonds of the past?

This is a Virgo new moon and the emphasis is on improvement. There is a marked tendency to lose focus and even to avoid facing the upcoming challenges. Keeping busy will help to keep you centred. Keep your enjoyments moderate and simple. Big schemes will cause big deceptions. It will be better for you to just keep busy and maintain simplicity. Don’t mind other people’s business! Question yourself before you criticize others.

The mind will be active and strong, but it will also be inclined to mislead you. Success on this new moon will come through silence. If you can keep the mind quiet, critical thoughts will not be able to arise. If critical thoughts do not arise, then one’s meditations will develop more clarity and strength.

Chanting is one of the best ways to control and silence the mind in this age of Kali or darkness. Chanting is a most effective tool for directing the mind away from worldly events and attachments. On this Virgo new moon one would be wise to use the tool of chanting to clean one’s psyche and enhance one’s soul.

No one ever loses from chanting, meditation or prayer. New moons are the seed moments of the month. Chanting on a new moon insures a greater spiritual integrity for the month ahead, and it also opens one up to an inner stream of visions and heartfelt feelings. It will reinforce faith!

One tends to do more than one should.

This is the time of year where we could all use a little self improvement. There is a strong tendency to overindulge and pay no heed to any criticisms. However, any little bit of effort made to improve things will improve your karma and the rewards that could be coming your way.

It is time to pause and reassess what is needed or what would be helpful. Self improvement will pay off. You cannot change others, but you might be able to help them remove some obstacles. This needs to be done with sensitivity and gentleness. Any excessive use of force will cause alienation and discord.

To be on the good side of this, just ask yourself, “What needs be improved?”

Think about it for a little while and then make it happen.

This is a Leo New Moon. Self esteem is important. Over-exaggeration and vanity are likely. There will be a marked tendency to over rate one’s sense of importance. Sometimes it is hard to be humble! There will be distinct confrontations over change and the ways to make it happen. Confusion is rampant. Evasive thinking and unreliable words and strategies prevail. There will also be a strong sense of impatience and recklessness.

Any expression of violence will likely invoke a greater reaction. Good things can be accomplished but it will be tricky. It will not happen by force or by pride. One must take a moment and pause before one acts, and when one acts, one needs to be harmonious, smooth and non-threatening.

Taking some time to meditate or chant will calm the individual and strengthen the spirit. In order to stay in the light one must hold it carefully within. It will be all too easy for one to deplete one’s reserves and inner light. There is no need to throw pearls before swine! Take a few moments to make sure that the people being helped are worthy…. and that you yourself are worthy!

If you reinforce and centre the feelings in your heart, noble causes will be championed.

This will not be a good time for laziness or inertia.

Make room for some silence, meditation, or some chanting on this new moon and you will be better able to secure your heart and the love of people around you.

ROBIN ARMSTRONG'S ZODIAC PREDICTIONS FOR AUGUST 2011

ARIES: MAR. 21 to APR. 20:

Bravado and klutziness will prevail this month. Your aggression level will be high, but aggression will likely work against you. One step forward two steps back! This will be an accident prone month when mechanical problems can be expected. The minute you lose your temper, you will have lost!

The Full Moon of Aug 13^th will be a stressful one. Take your time! Hurry up! Be wary of going to extremes. The New Moon of Aug 28^th will also be a stressful one for Aries. You are likely to feel hemmed in by time demands and responsibilities. Don’t argue with authority!

Special Focus:

If you were born between Mar. 21^st and Apr. 9^th these will be highly excitable days filled with conflicts and unexpected resistance. You will be strong in a short spurt but weak in long term demands. Try to take one day at a time. Try to let sleeping dogs lie.

TAURUS: APR. 20: to MAY 21

The world is filled with tension and strife and yet fortune continues to smile on you. This month you will be productive as it will be much easier for you to get things done than it has been for some time. Enjoy yourself but don’t overindulge. Go with the flow. If any hassles surface, just move out of the way and they will pass you by.

Spontaneous progress is the theme for most Geminis this month. What you have already set in motion over the last month, will continue to unfold positively without as much dramatics or force required. Good fortune is somewhat contagious. If you help someone else, benefits will come to you. So this month you should aim to spread some good fortune around. ARIES: MAR. 21 to APR. 20:

Quick wits will save the day but poor choices could ruin it. If you just keep active and say what need to be said your life will progress easily. If you get comfortable or lazy you stand to take losses. This will be a much better month to put out energy than to try and collect it. Don’t sweat the little problems. If you complain you will make matters worse.

The New Moon Eclipse of July 1^st will be a stressful one for Aries. Your timing will be off. Don’t trust your instincts! The Full Moon of Jul 15^th will also be a stressful one. Interference will come from close quarters. The New Moon of Jul 30, the second one this month will be a positive one. Even in the midst of adversity you will find some who will applaud and approve.

Special Focus:

If you were born between Mar. 24^th and 26^th these will be highly excitable days. You will be restless and ready to take radical initiatives. You are not likely to be sleeping well! If there is something you have to do, just do it. Any hesitation will increase anxiety.

This is a time when there are worries about security but nothing is stable. One’s worries tend to eclipse one’s compassion. There are always people who are worse off than yourself. Indulging in personal worries brings selfishness to the fore. Being over considerate about one’s problems, makes one under considerate about the problems of others. Who worries about their neighbors ability to pay the rent or have enough food?
The internet and media in general tend to keep us in a pocket of self indulgence and self interest. Who can really look out of the pocket? If you have problems to worry about, so must many others.

We are at the end of innocence on the world wide web. The internet is being used to destabilize countries and governments. It is also being used as a type of vigilante justice whereby punishments or harassments are being perpetrated before and legal judgment is made. Governments are using it to influence people and stay in power.
From here on we can expect more censorship and higher costs for access and security options.
There will be a cost to pay for what appears to be internet freedom.

On a spiritual level, one will soon have to do a month long media fast before one is ready to even approach silencing the mind and listening to the heart. Outwardly Preponderance of the Great implies watching the ridgepole of the roof or structure as it sags to the breaking point. Inwardly, Preponderance of the Great implies considering what must fall away so that the great inner light can shine brightly. There are two different directions for understanding this hexagram, and maybe more. Where are you focusing. Upon what are you concentrating?

This is a Cancer New Moon and it is also an eclipse. Sensitivities are heightened. Much depends on the direction and quality of your concerns.
Once before this message of Cherokee wisdom was included in this newsletter. It seem appropriate to include it again.

CHEROKEE WISDOM
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy, "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves...
One is evil -- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
The other is good -- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.""
And then he said: "This same fight is going on inside you --and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed!"

In the horoscope for this Cancer New Moon eclipse, there is a marked tendency to worry about things that are beyond your control. If this pulls you into negativity and darkness, then you need to take a step back and let go of your concerns. Perhaps your concerns and your thinking are being embraced more than God? Perhaps your worries show a lack of faith? No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. A lot of people have difficult karma coming back at them. This is a fact. Whose plan do you think, brought this about, or is bringing this about?
The point I am trying to make is that there is still value in realizing that higher hands might have a role in all of this. Perhaps God knows what He or She is doing! How much faith do you have?

Chanting or praying, at any time is a good means for staying centred in inner light and love. On an eclipse there is a tendency to increase the darkness, but if one can increase one’s inner light during such a time, one would certainly gain extra impetus and inner presence.
May you carry the light within while the darkness is manifesting without.

This is the beginning of learning.

Can you speak what is true and listen at the same time. If someone speaks untruthfully, leave them well enough alone. Don’t lose precious time following negativity or doubt. There is no need to contend. Just follow your own truth.

Some truths are greater than other truths. Are you listening?

This is a Gemini New Moon and it is also an eclipse. If we will ever be able to speak our peace, it is now. On this new moon the mind is empowered. One is impelled to impress others. Unfortunately because it is a south node solar-eclipse the mind and thoughts can too easily wander into darkness and doubt.
An eclipse is the darkest and most sensitive of lunations. While the world is darkened on the outside, it also receives a tremendous affirmation on the inside, for those sensitive enough to hear the silence. While the darkness prevails we are supposed to carry the light brightly within until it returns on the outside again. This eclipse is a powerful seed moment. What you feel or think at the moment of the eclipse will gain power and momentum. Hence the importance of clarity in the darkness. The thoughts that come into our mind when we are alone, that is our karma. How can we change them. Is it even possible? ……. YES! It is!
In the outer world there will be a marked tendency to distort or misinterpret the truth on this new moon. If your truth is in words, then it will be a fragile or questionable truth.
Thoughts, like words are a disturbance of silence. They are a disturbance of the peace!
They should be arrested!
If we can quiet the mind on this new moon we will remain open to the wonders and grace of silence.

Chanting is one of the most remarkable tools for silencing the mind. When chanting intensely, it becomes quite difficult to think or reason. Can you imaging being happy for no reason?
This is the challenge of this eclipse. Happiness without thought or reason would be a great reward.

Whether your technique for maintaining silence is chanting, singing bhajans or hymns, or praying, this new moon eclipse is an excellent time to persevere. Inner work will strengthen confidence and find increasing affirmations in the silence. Oh, if only we could spread the good cheer in silence.

If you don’t have something good to say, don’t say it! A good chant or prayer can be repeated silently even in social situations. Are you capable of this?

It is something that I strive ardently to achieve every day. I am also very grateful to know that there are many others around the world striving to maintain their inner light and exhibiting peaceful radiance within their sensitivity spheres. In this way inner peace and guidance are maintained around the world.
